Ultimate Luxury at the Sofitel Wellington
A new beginning
The fire that had devoured the Jardin Grill Restaurant at the property annexe has forced Sofitel Wellington to close for almost half a year, but this quaint property situated in Bolton Street is now looking polished as new.
Luxe boutique wonderland
Smiles were in abundance during the three days that we stayed—this friendly service made the property glow. Chain hotels can often feel blunt, but the Sofitel Wellington was warm and cosy. It's a delight to come home too. There's much to be admired interior-wise. The Green Room, a lavish cafe/bar lounge designed astutely with elegance in mind, to the exquisitely beautiful Jardin Grill, and the rooms themselves. The Luxury Room we stayed at were seven floors up with a view of greenery on one window and Wellingtonian concrete-jungle on the other. Tinges of gold glistened from the desk lamps, pillows, and minute decors.
The beautiful interior of this restaurant is beguiling. The Spring Garden dessert of pistachio, rose, lychee and vanilla, a masterpiece.
Vivid botanical delights
Dining at Jardin Grill is not to be missed! Chef Roy Giam's sophisticated approach to French slash Kiwi dishes is a sight and taste to behold. The Spring Garden dessert of pistachio, rose, lychee and vanilla is a masterpiece. But of course, how stunning is this restaurant? Inspired by neighbouring Wellington Botanical Gardens, the interior is filled with botanical flourishes and an explosion of cosmic colours. It is the most beautiful hotel restaurant I have ever seen. I can't get enough of it! Dinners here was amazing, and so was breakfast. I’m such a huge breakfast person. Sandeep, who took care of us while we were there, was attentive and thoughtful. He remembered how I take my coffee and even my choice of smoothie. That is careful attention to detail. Truly, a visit here would be unforgettable. I highly recommend this place.
In other words
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
